Material Collection

Trees, branches, and other

wood waste from land clearing and

sawmills are collected.

Grinding

The wood is fed into a primary
grinder or chipper, which breaks it

down into wood chips.

Screening

The chips pass through screens

to separate them into different sizes,

such as larger chips for erosion control or smaller chips for fine mulch.

Aging

The wood chips are often

piled and aged for several months.

Colouring

Some wood mulch is then

put through a colouring machine, where a non-toxic dye is mixed with water and applied to create black, brown, or red mulch.

Final Processing

he coloured mulch is screened again to ensure a consistent product.
